Thekkady is a town near Periyar National Park, is a true paradise for wildlife and nature lovers. The named Thekkady is derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. The city is blessed with dense green forests, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grasslands.
If time permits, you will visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - one of the popular national parks in India and famous as an elephant and tiger reserve. It is home to around 35 species of mammals like tiger, Indian elephant, gaur, sambar, wild pig, Indian giant squirrel, jungle cat, etc. (Optional - Boat ride on Periyar Lake)

If time permits, enroute visit Valanjanganam falls, locally known as Ninnumullipara is a scenic waterfall located in Kuttikkanam in Idukki. (Note: while you are going for local sightseeing, entrance / activity fee is not included)
Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha is a green paradise, where you can witness some amazing tortuous lagoons and canals. On arrival, you will proceed to check-in to the houseboats. Hereafter, you will be cruising the backwaters, explore the picturesque islands, lakes, rivers and canals. Amidst all the divine bounties of nature, you might wish to hold back time and delve deeper into the beauty of Alleppey. Check-out from the houseboat / hotel. In case you are staying in house boat, enjoy early morning sunrise of backwaters, also you will get a chance to see fishermen catching fish and boat men selling household items in their small canoe. After breakfast, the boat will move again for a morning cruise, you will check out from the houseboat at 0900 hours and proceed to Cochin.
Enroute visit the Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum (remains closed on Mondays) is a privately owned museum that displays decorative art and artifacts, including a large private collection of Swarovski crystals and ivory. And the International Coir Museum (remains closed on Mondays) is established for showcasing the coir industry over the ages with the latest developments which has brought in a revolution.
After the visit, you will continue your drive to Cochin.

Term "Kovalam" is derived from the Malayalam language that means "corpse of coconut grows". Spread over an area of 17 kms long coastline, Kovalam is a set of three adjacent beaches, sharing shores with each other- Lighthouse, Hawah, and Samudra. All these beaches together form a crescent shape.
If time permits, you will visit the Vizhinjam Rock-cut cave is dated to back to 8th century. The shrine has unfinished sculptures of Siva and Parvathi. The shrine has a central cell with an independent sculpture of Dakshinamurthy and on each side of the cell are unfinished sculptures of Siva and Parvathi. You can also witness the Vellayani Lake is a prominent freshwater lake in Kerala.

Day 3
17 Jun 2023: Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Munnar to Alleppey
After a sumptuous breakfast, it will be time to travel to Alleppey to enjoy an overnight Houseboat.
Alleppey or Alappuzha is a green paradise, where you can witness some amazing tortuous lagoons and canals. It is also known as ‘the Venice of the East’
On arrival, you will proceed to check-in to the houseboats. Hereafter, you will be cruising the backwaters, explore the picturesque islands, lakes, rivers and canals. Amidst all the divine bounties of nature, you might wish to hold back time and delve deeper into the beauty of Alleppey. With meals served on board, the liveliness of the backwater cruise will turn limitless.

Day 4
18 Jun 2023: Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Alleppey to Kovalam
Post breakfast check-out from the houseboat / hotel. In case you`re staying in houseboat, enjoy early morning sunrise of backwaters, also you will get a chance to see fishermen catching fish and boat men selling household items in their small canoe. After breakfast, the boat will move again for a morning cruise, you will check out from the houseboat at 0900 hours and proceed to Kovalam.
Term "Kovalam" is derived from the Malayalam language that means "corpse of coconut grows". Spread over an area of 17 kms long coastline, Kovalam is a set of three adjacent beaches, sharing shores with each other- Lighthouse, Hawah, and Samudra. All these beaches together form a crescent shape.
If time permits, you will visit the Vizhinjam Rock-cut cave is dated to back to 8th century. The shrine has unfinished sculptures of Siva and Parvathi. Later visit the Vellayani Lake, a prominent freshwater lake in Kerala. Then Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, official name is “Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium” and it is a home to rare fish species such as moon wrasse, squirrelfish, and clownfish.

Day 5
19 Jun 2023: Explore Kovalam
After breakfast, explore this beautiful beach city, with a full day sightseeing.
Other than indulging in beach activities, there are several must see places in Kovalam. You will visit the Vizhinjam Rock-cut cave is dated back to 8th century. The shrine has a central cell with an independent sculpture of Dakshinamurthy and on each side of the cell are unfinished sculptures of Siva and Parvathi. You can also witness the Vellayani Lake is a prominent freshwater lake in Kerala.
Also, visit the Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, official name is Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium - home to rare fish species such as moon wrasse, squirrelfish, and clownfish.

Day 6
20 Jun 2023: Departure from Kovalam hotel to Cochin Intl Airport
Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Cochin International/Domestic airport OR railway station to board your flight/train for onward destination. (Flight/Train details to be advised)
